How to calculate the limit of a function in Geogebra
In this lesson I'll explain how to calculate the limit of a function in Geogebra by a practical example.
Write a function. For example f(x)=1/x2
Now type the command Limit().
Write the name of the function in parentheses. In this example, the function is called "f".
Also indicate the limit you want to calculate after a comma. For example, the limit as x tends to 0.
Geogebra calculates and displays the limit of the function as x approaches zero.
In this example the limit of the function when x → 0 is equal to +∞.
You can calculate any limit. Also the limit as x tends to infinity (x → ∞). To make the infinity symbol on Geogebra press ALT + U (on Windows / Linux) or ALT +, (on Mac).
If you want to determine left and right-hand limits, you have to use two other commands.
Use LimitAbove() to calculate the right-hand limit
Use LimitBelow() to calculate the left-hand limit
